REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected INTRODUCTION: REPAIR INSTRUCTION: INITIALIZATION (2008 Sequoia) .

2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the instrument panel sub-assembly INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

3. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

4. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws.

(b) Disengage the 2 clamps.

(c) Disengage the 10 hooks and remove the front passenger airbag from the instrument panel.

(d) Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, release the locking button.

(e) Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, disconnect the 2 airbag connectors and remove the instrument panel wire.
